In 1994, Tom and Carolyn Lambrou opened our original location on the corner of Piedmont and Roswell Road. Their goal was to introduce Atlanta to a New York style diner, and it was a hit from the beginning. However, this success did not come easily. The founder of the Landmark Diner, Tom Lambrou, set out his journey on Greek ships as a cook, traveling all around Europe, Africa and Asia. Then, he came to New York City. By working low-level positions like busboy and dishwasher, Tom saved up enough money that at the age of 23, he bought his very first diner: Blauvelt Diner in New York City. Over the next 15 years Tom opened several other diners in New York. In 1994, Tom moved to Atlanta, where he opened the very first Landmark Diner. Thanks to Tom's hard work, the Landmark Diner truly is "Where the Stars Meet At Night!"
